WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION - Alabama Chanin stitching is a fabric embellishment technique done entirely by hand. This workshop is a leisurely exploration of the joys of "slow Sewing" - not a machine in sight!
Participants will begin by practicing 4 basic stitches using embroidery cotton. They will also learn how to incorporate beading when using these 4 stitches.
The next step will be learning how to stencil fabric using permanent markers and fabric paint.
Participants will then build a folder of samples - quilting, various applique techniques, reverse applique and negative reverse applique.
Lastly, participants will explore the addition of sequins and beads to a stitched design.
