Zippers are normally inserted in a seam, but it is possible to add a zipper to a seam-free area. In this class you will practice the centered overlap technique. The single overlap technique is very similar and will also be explained.

Interfacing is a textile used on the wrong side of fabrics in stressed areas such as facings, collars, and button plackets. It can give a garment section more body or strength and prevent it from losing its shape. You can’t see it from the outside, but interfacing plays an important part in your garment’s performance. Learning interfacing basics will help you make the right choice for your garments.

There are those who love to make bound buttonholes, single- and double-welt pockets and other couture details, and there are those who put the pattern back in the drawer when they see such things.
In this class you will learn a simple technique for sewing a single-welt pocket with just two pattern pieces. This style of pocket is best suited to unlined, casual garments.
FORMAT - Hands-on
Inset corners can appear in many areas of a garment—such as cut-on shawl collars, inset panels, and godets. Creating a clean, sharp corner can be tricky. In this class, you’ll learn two effective techniques for constructing inset corners, along with methods to stabilise them and prevent stretching or fraying.
